Holy Baptism
If you seek to have your child baptized, you may call or email the parish office to schedule a date and time with Pastor Dillon. If you yourself have not been baptized, you may call or email the parish office to speak with Pastor Dillon.
In the Lutheran Church the Sacrament of Holy Baptism is traditionally administered on a Sunday morning during worship amongst the gathered congregation. Private baptisms (baptisms done in the presence of a small group of family and friends) are permitted upon the approval of the Pastor.
In the Lutheran Church the Sacrament of Holy Baptism is the way in which the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit welcomes us into the household of faith and into the body of Christ--the communion of saints. The Lutheran Church is rooted in the practice of baptizing infants and young children--seeing baptism as an act of God, not an act of humanity that we have to choose; yet we also welcome youth and adults to experience this grace-filled gift of the Triune God who have never been baptized as an infant, or young child.
Baptism is administered through the pouring of water over the head three-times and includes: the sealing of the Holy Spirit with holy oil, the laying on of hands, and the presentation of a baptismal garment and candle.
